Terms of Service | Dockbase

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Dockbase ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Dockbase platform ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Service Description

Dockbase is a delivery governance platform for documenting and preserving software release decisions. The Service provides tools for recording release intent, decision entries, sign-offs, and post-release evaluations.

3. Accounts and Access

You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
You must provide accurate information and keep it updated.
Workspace data access is governed by role-based permissions (Owner, Admin, Editor, Viewer).

4. Intellectual Property

Dockbase and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including all software, documentation, branding, and intellectual property. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, resell, or redistribute any part of the Service. You retain all rights to the governance records and content you create in Dockbase. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to host and process your content solely to provide the Service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including fraud or spam.
Attempt to access data belonging to other workspaces.
Interfere with the security or integrity of the Service, including distributing malware, probing, or scraping.
Infringe on any intellectual property rights.
Share account credentials or attempt to circumvent access controls.

6. Subscription, Billing, and Refunds

New workspaces receive a 30-day free trial with full access.
After the trial, a paid subscription is required for continued write access.
All governance records remain read-accessible regardless of subscription status.
Subscriptions can be canceled at any time. Access continues until the end of the billing period.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

7. Data Preservation

Finalized governance records are treated as immutable audit artifacts. They cannot be edited after finalization. Deletion of finalized releases requires Owner-level authority and creates an irrevocable audit log entry.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of profits, data, or goodwill) arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Suspension and Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the application settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated policy violations. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the application. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
